MINNEAPOLIS (AP)—Twins pitcher Kevin Slowey(notes) has tossed seven no-hit innings
against the Oakland Athletics, only to watch Jon Rauch(notes) give up a hit on the
second batter he faced.

Slowey walked three and struck out five Sunday before he was replaced by
Rauch, who struck out Chris Carter to start the seventh. Cliff Pennington(notes) then
doubled off the wall in right field, and he scored when Coco Crisp(notes) followed with
another double to right.

The Twins led 4-0 when Slowey was replaced.

Slowey had thrown more than 100 pitches and was on a limit after missing his
last start with a sore right elbow. He also skipped his regular bullpen session
last week.
