Amazon Kindle Store hits the U.K.

Aug 5th, 2010 | By technologynews | Category: Technology

Amazon has officially opened a Kindle Store for the U.K., after years of U.K. customers having to purchase e-books from the American site in American dollars and have Kindles shipped internationally.

The Kindle 3 is set to drop in the U.K. on August 27th for 109 for the WiFi model and 149 for the 3G model. The U.K. Kindle Store will have over 400,000 titles available and e-book reviews from locals instead of depending on American reviews. 80 of the top 100 titles on the Nielsen UK bestseller list are represented in the store.
